Freedom Lies in Being Bold
The title of this blog is a quote from Robert Frost, but it seemed very fitting with everything that has been happening in our lives, and truly starting to understand how free we are in this beautiful country. We hope you had an excellent 4th and took the time to appreciate our country. Here’s a brief recap of our fun-filled week.
We spent most of the 4th week with Kevin’s family since his sister Kelly was in town from CO with her daughter Piper and boyfriend Marcus. It was fun to see them, but I don’t think I sat down once. We went jet skiing, boating, tubing, skiing, go-kart racing, biking, swimming, parties, parades, got ice cream, to name a few activities we did.
The cool thing is since we were at Lynn Anne’s campground, we could ride our bikes over to the Greenlee Lakehouse or have Skip and Sharon pick us up on the boat.
Did I mention the fireworks?! We visited the Pacey’s, and they have their own show; it was our first time, and I have never seen fireworks that close in my life. They were so beautiful; I couldn’t even get the full view in - I had to turn my head to see them all. Hands down, they were the best fireworks I have ever seen. Gavin and Piper were in awe, they didn’t get to enjoy fireworks last year so being together for their first show was a memorable experience.
We ended the long weekend with S’mores at the Carper’s Lakehouse and what fun the kids had together. I can already tell Hazel and Olivia will be lifelong friends - it was fun to see them bond, tell stories and play games - not to mention get a little wild tubing together. I’m also fairly certain Gavin may convince Cheryl to adopt him, he just loves her and snuggles with her whenever he sees her.
After the weekend ended, we got a bit of rain. I tried to do this blog earlier, but since there were so many people the WiFi bandwidth was maxed. So, we spent a couple of days being lazy, and after all the 4th excitement, it was what we needed. Here are a few more pictures from the week - I hope everyone enjoys them!
